How long have you been on hold?

I found BT the longest, it would always take over an hour each call. The best I have had is Sky where they would always answer straight away.0

Irish Embassy in London is the worst although technically I'm not at hold at all. It seems the only way I can apply for an Irish passport is to ring their number. I've rung about 10 times this week, including 15 minutes after they opened, and I've called at all sorts of different times, and each time I get told "I'm sorry - there's a large number of calls at the moment, and we are unable to take your call. Please call back later".
I actually wouldn't mind being put in a queue for this! :mad:0 -
my son was on for 1hour 25 mins to EDF before he finally hung up...their customer service is worse than useless0

Once I was on hold with British Gas for so long I died. It was very sad.0

I used to work in a call centre that did mobile phone insurance about a decade ago. Call waiting times would often be 2 hours plus (madness!) - can you imagine how angry the people were when they did get through? The turnover of staff was incredibly high!Thinking critically since 1996....0

Esure was 50 minutes at the end of May - !!!!ing joke.0

I worked in a call centre once and had to ring a supplier, we was on hold for FIVE hours (Im not exaggerating! It kept clicking like someone had picked it up but then put us on hold again lol) but office was determained to put through, everyone took turns being on hold for 30 min and then desk swapping lol
We did have about 50 complaints to get through with them though lol0 -
When I was working for Sky,I called our engineer line when I left Lisburn.I drove thru Belfast on the Westlink which,at the time, was undergoing major roadworks, down to Bangor & then home.Sky answered just as I pulled into my road.A distance of around 35miles which took well over an hour due mainly to the roadworks & rush hour traffic on the Bangor A2.0

A courier company on Christmas Eve the year before last - over two hours, to be told that my parcel (full of my sons Christmas presents that had been ordered 3 weeks beforehand) hadn't been loaded onto the truck that morning and wouldn't be delivered.
I went out and replaced all of the presents, in horrendous weather, with two kids in tow, to discover, when I returned, that they had delivered to me about 10 minutes after I left the house, and left the stuff with a neighbour.
Good old City Link eh?0
