Reliable, easy to set up freeview box?

Hi,
I am looking for a reliable, easy to set up freeview box. While I would naturally like to pay as little as possible. I would pay a little more for reliability and sturdiness.
Can anybody tell me which are the universally recommended boxes eg which the magazines recommend and/or which people have found to be good through personal experience?
Thanks for your help on this. :xmassmile

Thanks again. Have you had personal experience of using this? Is it reliable and easy to set up? :xmassmile0

OH bought his mum and dad one from Sainsbury's for Christmas, which was £25 and has gone done a storm - set up in minutes and easy for them to use (they are not very technologically confident).

ive had several decent make expensive ones that fail after the 12 months
what i do now is buy the cheapset one that tescos/asda/sains has knowing that i can easily change it if it fails and if it fails after the warrenty then ive only thrown away the minimum ££ that i had to
i find theyre pretty unreliable in general , ive had 3 fail now..one after 1 day0 -
We got three! Sagem, Matsui and Philips - all just needed plugging in and then they autotuned. They are 4, 3 and 2 years old and we've had no problems apart from Matsui which tends to drop radio channels - a quick retune and they are back! We did need new aerials though!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

theyre all super easy to use....connect the cables and turn it on, you will see a option of "auto set up" or similar, just press that and it does it all
ive noticed some have a volume control on the digi remote...others dont, i prefer to get one with volume control so that i can just use one remote0 -
Hi,
Thanks for all your opinions. I suppose I was wondering whether there was anything a little more expensive than the supermarket buys which could guarantee reliability but it sounds as if there is no rule of thumb which is a bit difficult when deciding what to buy. AFAI can tell reliability can be a problem after the first few months, tho' some people strike it lucky. I'm a little perplexed as to how to proceed.
Are digital TVs more reliable or do they suffer from the same problems? :xmassmile0 -
Sainsbury's have a half price one at the moment, sorry cannot recall what one it was, but it was approx £24.00.
We brough a Panasonic one, which is in the argos catalogue at present for £70.00, but our local store had it at £25.00, so snapped it up.2012 Target...
