Selling house

It looks as though we're selling our house, but I need to make it sellable, quickly and cheaply. Does anyone have any ideas how we can make the house look really nice without breaking the bank in the process?

Ignore or not the answer is as little as possible. Firstly you'll be unlikely to get your money back if you spend too much, secondly how do you know that what you do will be to the buyer's taste and thirdly the first thing any sensible buyer does when walking into a property thats been freshly decorated throughout asks themselves "what are they covering up?"

Thats my opinion. You will get replies that disagree with me. :cool:

to get a reasonable answer you'd have to tell us whats wrong with it to start with?

Tidying up the garden etc should go without saying.

Touch up tatty woodwork - it can work wonders.

A good de-clutter and clean will help.

You don't need to buy new things, just make sure the stuff you have got out looks as presentable as possible. Cover shabby sofas with throws.

Make sure your bathroom gleams.

Keep the place smelling nice. Don't let things fester in bins.

Tidy up work surfaces.

Put things away.
