Changing from storage heater to panel heater

I have a big and bulky storage heater in the hallway which has not worked for years. I came of the economy 7 tarrif a couple of years ago after not getting enough use out of it. I now want to replace it with a 1kw panel heater. The old storage heater is on its own mcb running to a 20 amp switch and then to a flex cord outlet, with the cable from the storage heater also running into the flex cord outlet ( see picture below ) would the correct way to replace it be to cut off the plug from the panel heater, and connect the wires to the flex cord outlet and job done, or is it more complicated than that?
Thanks
Andy

1Kilowatt is not very much to keep a hall warm in the winter.
I'd replace the 20 fused outlet with a 13amp socket, its possible you might need a qualified person to do this. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Its a small L shaped hallway in a flat that covers 5 square metres, and to be honest i never feel the need to use any type of heating in there, but because i have just decorated i didnt want to put the old storage heater back.:footie:

So why bother with any heating at all. You'll just be wasting 1kw per hour of heating for no useful purpose. Except maybe the 10 seconds of time that you'll be walking through it several times a day...If you don’t speculate, you can’t accumulate. :beer:0

If the panel heater comes with a 13A plug then it has to be protected by a 13A fuse, either in the plug or, if you remove the plug and wire it in, a fused connection unit. You can get these with/without switch/neon/flexoutlet:
13 Amp Un Switched Spur with Flex Outlet and Neon
