Credit expert Subscription issue

Hi im new so go easy on me!

I signed up for a free trial of credit expert, always see it about checking your credit score etc so thought ive never seen it so should take a look.
Completed info on line and at the end it said we need more info to complete your application.( i didnt save the page and now wish i had)
Nothing happens. no emails nothing.
Few weeks go by and so i email them.
They advised they needed more info due to a postal redirection i have in place. they sent letter to the address with a note on the front advising royal mail not to re direct hence i didnt get it.
they emailed me the details, it advises they need certain confirmation of my identity to complete my application.
A few emails have been batted back and forth and in the mean time they have started taking funds.

Now I know what your going to say about the re direction. The reason that is in place is ive rented out my house on the short term to sort my finances out and moved in with my mother. as this is short term i didnt want to change this with bank etc so sorted the re direction. because all of my financials being at my normal house i completed info as there.

So ive asked credit expert why they have started charging me as they havent even completed my applicaiton yet as they cant confirm i am the right person. they have advised they started monitoring my report and so my subscription started when i applied.

My question is can this be right? they are charging a subscription for this service but they have confirmed to me that my application hasnt been accepted and i do not have access to anything until this is done?

Can i stop these payments and can i get the payment back ive paid?

    I would call them up :)
  • they wont budge. they cancelled subscription adn sent me an email telling me i can still use it until 30 days after i last paid so i emailed them to ask how and they said by using the log in details. the details i dont have because they havent yet accepted application! they sent me the complaints proceedure that was all!
