Where ever you get your batteries, buy only NI-MH, not Nicad. The NI-MH have a much larger storage capacity and do not develop such a memory (reducing capacity over time). The storage capacity is getting larger all the time. 2500 Ma, should keep you powered up for ages.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

The poundland batteries are rubbish .... for me the 7dayshop batteries (own brand) look good value. I bought 4x packs of the AAs (2700mAh) and 2x AAA packs for 25quid. So I should be sorted for batteries for ages. The 2700mAh batteries are rough Duracell equiv. in terms of lifetime. Also I would not use rechargeable batteries for long life low drain applications like remote controls etc . Best use Zinc Chloride batteries for that (be nice to the environment).
So be green and go rechargeable for high drain stuff like cameras, mp3 players and portable dabs and get Zinc Chloride batteries for the remotes. (The reason for "proper" batteries for long life low drain applications is that alot of rechargeable batteries suffer from a low discharge rate in which the battery loses its charge over long periods of time hence making them unsuitable for remote controls etc.(having said that the situation has improved over the past few years though by how much I could not say so I would stick with the old wisdom for now!!!)).
(I have been told that the Zinc Chloride batteries are "safe" to throw in the bin whereas the Alkali type batteries contain heavy metals and will harm the environment.)
