HI all
I have read on here that some people (spaceman??) book a eg sun holiday 3 or 4 day holiday at a site and then book another holiday 3/4 day holiday at the same site for the days before or after the first in order to make a longer holiday....
I am thinking of doing this - BUT in your experiences have you been able to phone the park and ensure you get the same accommodation for both holidays or have you had to pack up and "move house" half way through the week?
I am not sure i can cope with moving all the stuff / bed linen etc half way through a holiday.....
Also i have booked a sun holiday and am thinking of extending it with one of the Daily Mail offers that are out this week - will it matter that i have booked through 2 different promotions? i presume not as it is the park who handle allocating accommodation not the newspapers...
any advice appreciated.

when we phoned and extended with butlins we did stay put, i think that would be the same if you phoned any of the companies and actually asked to extend an existing booking, the problem could occur if you booked a completly brand new holiday to coincide with the one you have already booked, i,e booking a 3 night break either on the friday before, or the friday after the monday your original holiday starts, as the holiday company would treat this as a whole new booking, and probably would not even register that you have already booked the 4 night break with them, so in that instance you may need to swap accomodation.
We may have this problem in the summer, as we have a 4 night stay in pontins pakefield and are looking to extend, but cant afford the price quoted, but have noticed last few weeks, on a wednesday i have been recieving emails of them, offering the next weekend 3 night break at stupid prices, so am hoping this carries on for the next few weeks, then we will book a 3 night break this way and extend our holiday, as it would work out nearly half the price i am being quoted on the phone:eek:, so if it works out, i am presuming we will have to move come the mondayTake every day as it comes!!0 -
On a couple of the Haven holidays we have been on they had a little stand by where you collect your keys/info packs saying extend your stay book extra 3 nights for this much etc.
Not sure if they still do this though as i havnt seen it on last couple unless it just an offer with that park at that time to fill up the caravans??
Id give them a ring and see if you could do it, how much it would cost and what were the chances of you staying in the same caravan xWant to be debt free by Jan 2014 after letting things sprial out of control

Ive got a sun holiday for fri oct 14th for 3 days could i ring them and ask t extend the stay for 7 days, and then just pay the difference or couldnt i do this ?

Hi Just come back from sun holiday, we booked 3 nights at parkdean Torquay and then 4 nights at parkdean Looe Bay. It really added to the excitement of the holiday to move to a different place! Both caravans were lovely. With a sun holiday the accomodation is allocated on the day (so basically you get what is left from other people who have paid full price). But if you want to upgrade or extend holiday, you pay full brochure price. Hope this helps0

How does that work then, say a holiday resort has 1000 holiday homes, it gets booked 100% by full paying guests, but at the same time, 40 groups of sun holidayers turn up, where do they then get allocated?, also may be true with some companies about the upgrade price, but we managed to get a butlins a couple of years back, and we extended from a 4 day break to a 7 day break, and all it cost us for the extra 3 days is was the equivalant of booking through the sun, so we saved over £400 doing it that wayTake every day as it comes!!0 -
thanks for the reply, when ringing to extend our stay would i have to ring the park direct ? we're going to primrose vally, so would i just have to ring them and see if we can extend ?
Thanks in advance0 -
ive just phoned and they said you cant extend a sun holiday the only way i could is to ask when we get there to see if there are any caravans left, oh well.0
