Rather than a taxi transfer would it be reasonable to hire a car one way for a couple of days - if self catering you can then do a big shop as well and get out and about early on?0

Does anyone have any advice on transfers from Palma (Majorca) airport? I've looked at various sites and the transfer to Puerto de Soller seem to be approx £130 return for 4 of us (16pp each way). If we could get an ordinary taxi cheaper I'd be very happy

I can recommend this guy, apparently the only British taxi driver in Majorca. He'll meet you at the airport, just text him if your flight is delayed.

Cheap car hire from Palma airport at cardiddy.com
15 euros a day including cover for 2 drivers and no hidden extras (apart from a full tank of fuel) for a 5 door Seat Ibiza diesel0 -
We used JanerBus both in 2009 and 2010 and could not fault them, they give you a quote via email, you pay nothing til you get there, the only stipulation is that you have to pay part of the return journey when you get to your destination, leaving you just the balance to pay when they pick you back up.

There is NO per person amount I was quoted for a return journey from Palma Airport to Cala Magrana I think it worked out to 116 euros in 2010 which I thought was reasonable. We had a mini bus in fact for just 3 of us on the journey from Palma and a very large vehicle on the way back, date was in July so peak season. Thought I would recommend them as we found the so good, and it was our first time abroad in many many years in 2009 and I did the whole lot myself from f:beer:lights to transfers to accomodation. Hope this is of help. Some Days are Diamonds Some Days are Stones,Sometimes the hard times won't leave meBSC 162:beer:Banktupt 22 Oct 2008 at 10am!0
