Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Car Insurance Carver! Xmas Saver!
hi, you're very welcome. if my internet hadnt have failed i'd have posted earlier. i only just managed to save my post in 'recover' mode and repost it again. i'm glad it was worth the effort!
the first time i camped in my vango milano 3man i had pluresy so bending and twisting was painful and difficult, but it wasnt too bad. i guess in all things it's time vs cost vs comfort. if it were me i'd happily invest 54quid at blacks/millets, on a tent i will be comfortable using. (i might even get a spare at that price!)
    i've sent you a pm.

    GRRRRRRRR!
Completed post appeared momentarily then disappeared.

    En bref -
X5 bus pass journey[remember, I am ancient:-)] obligingly saved me much petrol, with convenient stop on outskirts of Bedford. Terrific 1st visit there with ideal SA. Bought this:
    http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/gamma-300-p183854

and treated self further to this:
    http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/hi-gear-ultralite-lightweight-sleeping-mat-p143703

The reviews are impressive and one echoes sth I had thought of doing, i.e. using a current mat beneath[I have an old Eurohike one unused].
I will keep them laid out in car, either to use within, or tfr easily to the v. spacious tent - so much more than I expected when I saw it up in store.

SA[best not give name in case what was done was A Naughty Thing]also applied 2 further £5 discounts and sorted foc Discount Card.

It's been a great 1st visit to Go Outdoors. I feel relatively confident, v. hopeful and pleased.

I'll buy my campingaz in France though - UK prices are bonkers. SA agreed - and is also a fan of £land camping[and other]basics.

Thankyou all once again. You've been marvellous - and I have joined campingforum, pitkin:-)

Tent's up since yesterday - est. time on label 10mins, moi:40:-).
BUT, I have 2 left over pegs with flattened closed ringtops, at 90degrees to stem.
I like the instructions being sewn into the carrybag.
Don't like 'tent should look like photo', when this shows no guy ropes etc.
Next, checked online and found that sleeping mat had gone through at £27.99, not £17.49, being Discount Card price. Rang store. Dep Mgr regretted I had to go back; no way to do anything without my PIN no., so jiggled day and X5'd back just before 18h closure.
Marvellous service yet again, genuine apology + further few £s refunded for trouble, unsolicited!
Also, felt vindicated mentioning what felt like stumbling blocks in Vango design, marketed for 1st-timers, among others -no component checklist, instruction gaps, mismatched internal colour tapes[red>red fine, but yellow had to make do with orange], and those extra pegs. No-one else knows what they are for either, amongst whom a former Antarctic 6-mth RN scientific officer and, for 20 years, extreme camper. They even checked other tents - present in all.

    That's it for now.

The vango tents looks quite good actually, with the remaining pegs have youchecked they arent for plastic shape D rings, i have a vango tent and theres a few of these D rings where you put a peg through. I agree about the lack picture showing the guy ropes. Maybe an email to vango to let them know of the picture.

Oh thankyou - glad it isn't just moi!

I had thought to email them, having just spent time on site now and getting no further.
Also, they do NOT have pitching pdf for ALL tents, as they claim. No Gamma there, apart from which I'd not know how to classify it in their groupings.
Okay, GoOutdoors say the Gamma 300 is exclusive to them, but it's a match for the Zetes elsewhere, I'd say.
I do think a pictorial checklist[as any self-assembly items contain]would sensibly identify, name and number pieces.
I have used normal pegs everywhere and I think not re D rings, as there are more than 2 of those.
I'm ready to sleep in there tonight, with home-y bits to hand, or - if not- only inside. Reading lights will be a big thing.
