Npower were poor but this is beyond ridiculous...

In no way is this a defence of Edf. In my personal experience Edf customer service is currently "dysfunctional". However my actual switch (through TheEnergyShop) has progressed successfully within the 4 to 6 week indicated timeframe without having contacted Edf at all (because it is "impossible"), or had any response to my emails. Not that you would believe it from what MyAccount says.

Everything I provided to TheEnergyShop, my bank details, my preferred DD date, my annual consumption has all been correctly transferred and calculated. I am on a very competitive tariff based on pre-increase pricing, fixed until 2014. Overall I intend to have the last laugh.

I conclude that even if the customer service is "dysfunctional" and the new MyAccount currently "garbage out", the back-office systems are (currently) OK.

Looks like a case for the 'Secret Rep' from EDf to make contact with you.

EDF aren't able to do even the most basic billing and customer service operations currently and in that respect you are not alone.

The 'Secret Rep' is very helpful if you are lucky enough to be one of the chosen few.

Let me know if they don't contact you within a week and I will give you their details.

yes, i had a PM from the 'secret rep' recently. didn't contact them at the time as i was unsure if they were an official company rep & it seemed a bit odd that they don't appear on the boards like all the others do (but they'd be snowed under, so perhaps they aren't that daft after all!) MSE did look into it & confirm they did appear to be from EDF anyway.

i might just give them a pm now as you've given feedback on them being helpful :)

I agree with Jalexa, I've been through pretty much the same treatment. The online system is chaos but behind the scenes there appears to be method in the madness.
I've just received my final bill from E.ON, the meter readings on it are the same ones I've submitted (Several times) to EDF and the calculations look pretty much as I expected.
The readings still don't appear in my EDF on-line account.

The ongoing problem with gas accounts has been going on for months - where is the regulator? There is some good news - I just got mine sorted. I was contacted by the "secret rep" after posting in a separate thread.
