If someone has got 60wks prison sentance and they have done 60 days on remand how long would the actually serve. Do they knock the 60days of the 60wks then half it.
Thankyou

If someone was held on remand, the start of the sentence is considered to have been the time the criminal first went to jail. So their remaining sentence would be roughly 51 weeks (60 weeks - 60 days).
If their sentence is reduced (for good behaviour, parole etc.) then the sentence is considered as a whole. So for example if they are released after serving 2/3 of the sentence then they will spend a total of 40 weeks in prison, and so would be released in 31 weeks time.0 -
For any prison sentence of less than four years, the prisoner will automatically be released at the half way point (so 30 weeks in this case). The time on remand is also taken into account and taken off the total. Also, depending on the index offence, and whether they are deemed suitable, they can also have another few weeks off with a tag on a curfew - afaik there are not many applicants for this who get turned down - often if the Probation Service (who do the checks) deem the applicant unsuitable, the Governor will overrule this and let them out anyway!
Also, because the sentence is over a year in length, the prisoner will be supervised by the Probation Service on release. There will be two dates to note, the Licence Expiry date, which is the date on which they will no longer be supervised, and the Sentence End date which, obviously, is the date the 60 weeks is up. They can be recalled to serve all or part of the remaining sentence up until this time if they fail to co-operate with Probation, commit (or are accused of committing) new offences, etc.... One of the conditions of the licence when released is "to be of good behaviour" so anything other than good behaviour can lead you to be recalled.

Given this person's history, the chances are he will commit another offence within a week of being let out and have to go back to serve the rest of the sentence.
Assuming he gets through the sentence without getting into trouble in prison. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Going by the many previous threads about this, i'd hope he serves the whole 60 weeks.Per Mare Per Terram0

It's difficult to know what's what with the actual sentence without having been in Court, but I seem to remember you saying that he was on a suspended sentence prior to his remand (this time) and if that sentence was activated as part of this sentencing exercise (which it almost certainly would have been) then any remand in the run up to that suspended sentence would be deducted from the overall total.
