First Class is better in the week as you will get hot food. At weekends First Class customers will receive complimentary tea, coffee, water and biscuits, which are available to collect from the onboard Shop in coach C.To Dare is To Do:beer:0

I'm not sure about weekends but during the week the Virgin Pendolino routes are great for first class travel - free food - breakfast/snack lunch and free drink too - non alcoholic or alcoholic! The Voyager routes are a lot stingier. Have a look at Virgin's website to determine whether or not your route is a Pendolino or Voyager one. Falkirk Bairn0

It's Virgins way of filling their empty first class coaches. So better seats, and stingy amounts of tea / coffee and biscuit (in the singular!) at weekends.
Only worth if it Standard is full - do it on the train.0 -
I did this last Sunday - travelled from Glasgow to Milton Keynes and paid £20 on the train (my original ticket was £17) - I had the whole coach to myself - sprawled out over the table and chairs, feet up, got my coffee, biscuits, cake and mince pie (it was Xmas Eve) , clean quiet toilet, then slept for 5 hours, bliss.0

Doesnt seem too worth it. Im travelling from Glasgow....theres not even a lounge to use their before we depart, so it looks like £20 for tea and biscuits....though i do like the idea of being able to sleep more comfortably as its the 6am service.0
