Holiday for all the family

Hi, by the end of this year we plan to be debt free :D (yippee):T, and to celebrate we will be saving up to go on a holiday next year, there will be me, my other half and his two children, the only thing is where to go???

I know we want to go abroad for the sun, sea and sand, but somewhere for the kids is a defanite, it will be their first holiday abroad and want it to be a one to remember, my worst nightnare is for us to get to our destination and its toatally inapropriate for children (they are 10 and 8) ive tried looking online but just get confused as the child friendly places i have seen so far have been given the worst reviews, also i have been told not to book it through the travel agents as it will be more expensive, our buget is around £2000 and going all inclusive would take a load off our minds !

Could any of you super savvy savers help me look for a holiday to remember and not be dissapointed?

Don't be too put off by reviews. We booked to go to San miguel Hotel in Ibiza through Thomson four years ago and I was very upset when I read some of the reviews and was dreading our holiday but it turned out to be the best family holiday we had had by far. We are returning Saturday for our 4th time. It's a great place for kids of all ages and somewhere I would reccommend. Beautiful setting, good food, safe for kids, great fun and fantastic staff. Some families we meet up with have been returning for 8 or more years. It is very friendly there.
The only way I would let reviews put me off in future was if they were all negative but if it's just the odd one or two I wouldn't take too much notice. The bad reviews are usually written by people paying 3 star prices and expecting 5 star luxury.

As others have said, when looking at reviews on the likes of tripadvisor ignore the top and bottom 10% and concentrate on the other 80%.

For a fabulous beach I'd thoroughly recommend Alcudia in Majorca. Sea Club is lovely accommodation with good entertainment, kids club etc.
