Letsure tenancy referencing

We have recently filled in an application for a comprehensive tenants check with Letsure. My employer has responded with his reference but our current landlord is yet to respond and according to the agent, Letsure have emailed our current landlord and left two voice messages on their answerphone (one of which is under "Landlord's Final Reminder sent").
We were just wondering what happens if the landlord doesn't respond. Will the application be declined? Everything else has 'accept' beside it.

Have you contacted your landlord yourself to find out why they haven't responded? Perhaps if you offer to compensate them for their time they might be more amenable.0

Well we contacted our landlord the other day to say we'd be moving out at the end of the tenancy (even though we've got 2 months left) and we asked if they'd be happy to give a reference and their response was 'of course'. I've not spoken to them since.0

So speak to them again!0

Hi,
My name is Julie McMullan and I am the Head of Referencing Services with Letsure, I am going to send you a private mail giving you my contact details to see if I can help you get this resolved.0 -
Thanks, I will but can anyone advise what is likely to happen if they don't provide a reference?0

I would assume that when they finally give up trying to get hold of your landlord the report will say something like "landlord was not contactable"
It would then be upto the new landlord to decide whether to dig futher or accept you on the basis of the rest of the report.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0
