Where to buy replacement (spare) key for Vauxhall Agila?

Hello, knowledgeable motoring chaps.

I have a key for my Vauxhall Agila with a remote button thingy. That works fine.

SOMEWHERE I also have a spare key with no remote which you just turn in the lock. However, where it is is a mystery.

DH and I are driving abroad fairly soon and thought it might be politic to have a spare key. I don't want to pay ridiculous sums for a "zapper" - just a "normal" key that you put in the lock and turn.

Could anyone advise where the best place is to do this? I'm assuming if I go to a Vauxhall dealer they'll charge me an arm and a leg?

Thanks for any advice.

You may not need the remote locking part but you will need the chip for the immobiliser and you will more than likely need your vauxhall security card which contains the chips code. IF you don't have the security card you will probably have to pay £25 for that before you start.

Some companies maybe able to clone the chip you have now though saving you money on the security card. I would certainly phone the dealer first off as that gives you a starting price.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

In the interest of moneysaving, as you say you have a spare somewhere, I would rummage through every drawer and cupboard to try and find it.

As mentioned earlier, even if you go for a basic key, you will still have to pay for the programming of the immobiliser chip, so the costs will mount up.

Remember that if you do order a key from the dealer, you will be required to pay in advance and there will be no refund if you try to cancel once they have placed the order. So if you are going to hunt for your spare, do it before you order a replacement, not afterwards.
