Booked travel insurance for a european hol today and was impressed to find that insureandgo charged only £21 for gold cover (3rd level of cover) including cover for hypertension and asthma. Was really impressed with this as normally get stung. also you can get agreement to cover these online in a few seconds rather than having the hassle of calling up. Hope this might help someone.

That's good to know but if you go to Europe doesn't the European medical card cover you? I know it's free as I had to get one for my son. Just asking as I didn't know if you went to Europe you needed extra medical cover.0

All the card does is give you treatment on the same basis as locals. This often involves paying a substantial part of the bill. Also if you had to be repatriated you would have to pay the costs yourself. The EHIC does not give you the same medical cover as travel insurance.0
