worth noting tho despite removing the tags the fabric labels on the garment will still be there with the same bar code.....0

Can I just ask why if a member of Next staff already told you it would be alright to do this have you come on here looking for advice?0

I work for them, and all items have an individual code, not just the same style types if you see what I mean (i.e. 2 size 10 tops, absolutely identical, will have two different codes) - and the computers/tills log whether things have been sold.
if you return the new item on the old receipt, the store will know. You could well try, but also could well be found out.

You are pulling a fast one...
Next sales items used to be marked. They used to have red dot on the label on the item so they knew if people were pulling a fast one..
Maybe they now change the labels instead?
No labels changed, just individual item codes. Stops people pinching things then returning for a refund!
