Can I just send proof of income to SAAS without being asked for it?

Options
Hi everyone
My son has an unconditional offer for Uni, which he has accepted, and he has sent away all his forms to SAAS etc and has received notification of his loan/bursary amount, payment schedule etc based on our income - however we've not been asked to submit any proof of income as yet and I'm wondering when we will be asked for this? I have it sitting ready, but we're going away for a couple of weeks next week so by the time we're back home it will be early August, and I'm worried anything I send to SAAS then will get caught up in a backlog of last minute applications and clearing etc, causing a delay in him receiving his payments.
Will I be able to send the info off to SAAS just now, with a covering letter and his reference number, or do I have to wait til I'm officially asked to produce it?
Thanks!

Have you an online account with them? If so, check on the correspondence there as they may have sent a request for it (without telling you via email that you have a message there) and without asking for this info by letter.

If it was me I would send the info now with covering letter etc.
  • if he has been assessed correctly (if you think the amounts are correct) then i wouldnt worry about it and wait until they ask for it. If you come back and theres a letter asking send it then. Im sure one of the years i was at uni they didnt ask so i wouldnt send it without asking. there very busy at this time and if hes got a payment letter then he will get paid this as a provisional amount.

Worst case i believe would be they would only offer him the minimum loan next year until you didnt send the info for this year and then you could just send it in. This has happened to be and my sister through our error twice. I wouldnt worry about it just now

oh and in my experience it can take a few months for them to ask for proof of income
