What is the CORRECT insulation for Inside studded Walls separating rooms?

Options
Hi all

Some people will probably of seen a few of my other posts on MSE regarding DIY. The answers are excellent and very helpful, which leads me to ask & ask, so thanks in advance people fir your advice.

OK, on to my project.... We are currently renovating our en suite bathroom. We have removed & thrown away all the old tiles & plasterboard. We have cut and assembled the new Aquapanel boarding for the Walls ready to fit in place of the standard Plasterboard.

When removing the old plasterboard, the cavity in the studded Walls was filled with loft insulation, that Pink Stuff! Well, I mentioned to my pal today that I was nipping out on lunch to get some Rockwool etc to replace the old insulation and he told me "You don't use Rockwool in Timber studded Walls. You use insulation boards. You can get them from Sheffield Insulations". So, I went to their website and saw loads of different options for boards, Rockwool etc. So, my question is this... What is the correct product to use as insulation in my studded walls? Rockwool or these insulation boards? I presume the boards are foam or Polystyrene???

Thanks all.

50mm mineral wool with minimum density 10Kg/M3 - lifted from the building regs,
the reason your friend might be saying that is that rolled insulation can sag in the walls and leave cold spots, insulation board would prevent that so would be better but more expensive, also more difficult for cables and plumbing to go through - it's really only for sound transmission in internal walls so anything will do really

You can use Rockwool, but get the semi-solid batts, they do not sag. Otherwise use the polystyrene stuff (Kingspan I think)

Your friend is talking about external walls I think, not internal dividing walls. I would put the old stuff back in.

For internal walls you don't need insulation unless you want it. If you do decide to insulate, almost any type will do. Mostly it will stay in place by friction while the plaster boards are being fixed on.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
