Blair Endersby / Grant Thornton

Anyone had any problems with their switch over? My parents have been with BE for 3 years, never missed a payment etc... they get a phone call today from GT today stating that they owe them £4000 in missed payments!!!! They know that BE have had the money, which can be proved, but no-body knows where the money has gone, obviously not where it should have. How have they the right to ring up OAP's demanding 4k, they have been told that no payments have been missed and that it is all documented but they still are insisting that my parents owe the outstanding money 'because we can't find the money'???? I am also with BE / GT but only in the last 3 months and have no paperwork or anything to say GT have taken over - so far i'm really not impressed and think i should have gone bankrupt but y should my parents who have paid for 3 years be forced to go bankrupt because it appears BE have gone bust and not made any payments. Really really angry.

There appear to be a lot of problems over this takeover. If GT won't play ball ask them for the details of their regulators as you wish to pursue a complaint.
  • yes i have also had a problem with this switchover. i had a direct debit set up to pay blair endersby 200 pounds a month. now apparently they have switched over and the direct debit has to be reset up with grant thornton. problem is, i wsant aware of this in may and spent the 200 in my account without realising! so i now have 600 to owe grant thornton (which is fine, i have the 400) but not mays payment,. i have tried to get hold of grant thornton and theyve told me il get a phonecall when the switchover is done and all the information of our accounts are updated on their systems.

im a bit panicking now as im not sure if im going to get in trouble for not paying what i owe them from the last 3 months due to the switchover.

but then i havent heard diddly squat from them! they reassured me that they are still paying my creditors but they will be in contact soon to rearrange my direct debit,. bit annoyed with it all really as (stupidly i know) i just assumed the money had been taken from my account in may so subsequently ended up spending my iva money. i wish they had contacted me to let me know before hand so i could have taken the money out so i wouldnt spend it.

    worried and panicked :(

Grant Thornton have taken over BE's caseload and I get the impression they were a bit overwhelmed when they discovered the mess they had been handed. This has caused a major blip in their customer service, which they are only now recovering from.

GT have enrolled over on the forum at www.iva.co.uk and post over there.
