Searches for Statute Barred Debts

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can assist me with my matter. I have not long moved back into the UK and have obtained copies of my Credit file from Each of the Agencies.
I have 1 default on each report to Capquest formerly FTC for £1322 which will become statute barred 9th September 2011 however it's listed 4 times on my Experian report same dates amount etc.
Then on my Equifax report I have the following searches
14/08/2009 Outstanding Debt Cabot Financial (Europe) Limited 14/07/2011 Outstanding Debt Mackenzie Hall - Kilmarnock (Bat 06/12/2010 Outstanding Debt Mackenzie Hall - Kilmarnock (Bat 13/04/2010 Outstanding Debt Clarity Credit Management Soluti
Once the 6 years is up on my default and thats removed will these searches above restrict my chance of getting a bank account?
I am currently using a Natwest Business account as a personal account and it's costing me over £30 a month due to business account charges. So recently I applied for a Co-op current account I was accepted and received the acct no and sort code in the post then a separate letter to say after further checks I had been denied. I have researched on here and I see that's common practice.
I then sought my credit files and can see the default plus not being on the electoral register as the deciding factors, I registered to Vote last week so should appear next month and in September the default will be off. So I hope to be able to get a new bank account by the end of September. However my fear is the searches from the DCA's showing outstanding debt will go against me.
After 9th September should I write to them advising the debt is Statute Barred ? Or just ignore it?

Hi
If you registered to vote after the 11th (last Monday) then you won't appear on the ER until 1 September - and then will take another 6weeks plus for the credit reference agencies to update their files.
The capquest account what is the default date? you say it will be SB on the 9th - is that the default date or the date of last payment/written acknowledgment by you? If its the default date then its not necessarily the same as the SB date (in fact it would be very unlikely that it was the same date).
If all 4 entries are identical it could be an experian blip - this happens sometimes where every account is duplicated or occasionally triplicated, the experian rep says that any potential lenders looking at your wouldn't actually see the duplicates.
If the differ at all and look like seperate entries have been put on by the debt collector then your only option would be to contact them and ask them to remove (i'm guessing you have no plans to do that).
Are capquest currently chasing you? if not then you getting copies of your file and providing your address might trigger them to chase again.
The debt collection searches from that long ago should not impact on your file.
What account did you try to obtain with co-op? was it a full account or a basic account? Might be worth applying for a basic account somewhere in the meantime.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
It's the default date 9th September 2005 everything is identical the amounts/date/spelling etc. In fact I was in Spain 10 months before that so I can't think what the default was for, all it says is Bank.
I have thought about a basic account and that might be the way to go for now. If they decide to try and chase me now I will go along the route of them having to prove I owe the money which they wont be able to do, especially if they chase me after the default date, even though I don't remember defaulting anything back then.0 -
I forgot to say I have an Orange Contract which is showing a perfect payment record. So I have some credit history if these DCA's wanted to find me then I was always Visible.0

Well I took my credit file into Natwest I have my company account with them and have been approved for a Gold Current account and a £10K overdraft even the bank employee was shocked.
I have since deposited in the account and it is indeed open. It must be because I have over 10 years impeccable history with them and my company acct having over 100K a year go through it.
I turned down the 10K overdraft and have settled for 15000
