Sorry this is slightly off topic - but join all the baby clubs you can - Morrisons, Boots, Tesco, Pampers (I don't have a baby so I don't know what other clubs there are, maybe some other MSEs will be able to help out on this one).

Here's a list of baby clubs:

Neither would I. I ended up changing formulas to one that seemed to suit DS better, huggies always leaked on him and pampers suited better (though all my friends had opposite problem) and DD had baby eczema, so I had to just use water on her so it would have all been a waste of money:cool:

Things like vests, sleepsuits if you see them in sale are a good idea, so is things you'll use. I'd also go along with organising the house. 7 years on we haven't managed that

you could buy vests in bigger sizes too, most babies seem to wear them all year round. mine sleeps in just a vest in summer (but he is a very hot baby naturally) and in winter he sometimes has one under his t-shirt if he is going out for a few hours at a time. most babies i know wear them under their clothes all the time in winter, but they're all different. i bought packets of vests in all sizes when i saw them on sale and they have all been used, even if they don't get worn a lot.

Totally agree, dd1 was allergic to sudocrem, dd2 allergic to drapolene and ds1 allergic to huggies wipes. So glad I didn't stock pile anything!! I also used cheap pants and threw them away, never used formula all breastfed but friends baby was intolerant to one so she had to change it.

Good luck, children are the most precious thing in the world :D

    Congratulations on your forthcoming blessing....

I can reccomend buying wipes you will use those for years to come in the car, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom almost every room in the house. Mine are Ds 22 months and DD 6 years (She still needs wipes!)

When it comes to toiletries I would not buy more than you need shampoo in our house lasts 6 months a little goes a long way! Bald babies too....:rotfl:

Can honestley say when it comes to the big purchases. Test drive in the shops look feel touch and make a decision on what you would like but buy on the internet. Saved £250 on our last pram and it is the best. Can tell you site if You PM me. Well good luck and make the most of you time for you and OH you will miss it when Baby arrives but family is fun too! Congratulations BBx

Cant really add anything to whats already been said, except that I wouldnt stockpile too much, as you will chop and change to find what suits you and your baby.

Two items I would recommend thou, that havent been mentioned are Kamillosan, a chamomile nappy rash cream which can also be used on sore nipples (double whammy) and Metanium, also a nappy rash cream but was the only cream that helped my ds and dd when it was at its most severe.

Hope this helps and all the very best to you! :D

    Join pigsback!!!

    linky to thread

i have been a member for about 10 mths and had well over £100 of free boots vouchers. I use these for buying nappies, and have hardly ever had to splash out and buy any with cash.

As others have said, dont bother with baby toiletries- they last for ages!

hope to see you on the Pigsback thread :D :T

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

oh- and as someone else said, most invaluble item to take into hospital is some HUUUUGE knickers!! :rotfl:

especially if you end up having a c-section as i did - normal knickers don't cover your scar, and you feel like your belly is going to fall out! :rotfl:
