Hi everyone,
My sky remote went missing about 8 weeks ago. Yesterday the skybox gave up as well. A friend has given me his old Sky+ box which is working alright. Now I am in a dilemma whether to buy an excellent condition original and used remote or new as the sellers claim on ebay.
Anyone has any suggestions or experiences?
Thans a lot.

I had to get a replacement as we went from a Sky to a Sky+ box, and bought a new one from one of the UK eBay sellers for about £6, posted. It was fine.
I wouldn't buy secondhand as I don't like the idea of other people's food remnants festering under the keys of my remote!0 -
I have purchased a couple from ebay, both brand new with no problems at all.:pB&SC No. 298

The are different revisions of Sky remotes & the newer ones are programmed with more up-to-date software & TV codes.0

Could always try a universal remote.
I use a Logitech Harmony 525 with my kit and it controls everything and can do sequences with 1 button press e.g. watch TV but turns on TV, sets channel, turn on sky box.0
