Planing down door frames
Comments
-
The only fire doors I have seen that allow substantial planing are plain flush ones.
I cannot see that planing the door frame is a viable option as others have said. How about fitting a new frame/door lining? It could be cheaper in the long run. Besides the frame is actually an integral part of the fire resistance and a new fire door fitted into an old frame probably will not comply anyway. For starters there is probably a big gap behind the frame and it may be held in place with a few timber wedges and nails.0
