Help please! double glazed window wont open

I have the worlds worse double glazing, all the handles are rubbish now the handle is in the open position (not locked) but the window wont open and is stuck fast, any ideas on how to open the thing, don't care if it wont close again will look to replace the thing asap.

It sounds like the window has dropped on the hinge, just give the sash frame a good bash with a rubber hammer (it worked for me in my old house)
