Help needed! Magic Summer Live

Hi everyone,
I've just joined the forum, as a friend recommended I come here to get advice. To cut a long story short, I bought tickets to see Magic Summer Live, with Elton John headlining, at Hatfield House for my mum's 64th birthday (she's a massive fan and has wanted to see him live for years).
The tickets were £66 each including booking fee, so not exactly inexpensive, and to cut a long story short, the event was so badly catered for that we ended up queuing for 2 and 3/4 hours just to get a slice of pizza each and we missed all but the last 25 minutes of Elton's 2 hour set.
We weren't allowed to bring food into the event, leaving us with no choice but to keep queuing. I emailed to complain and ask for compensation, but have just received a generic, send-to-all response with no mention of compensation.
I've emailed back saying I don't think this is acceptable - is there anything else I can do?
Thanks ever so much in advance.
