Hi,
Just noticed that L+G have released a new fund last month. It's investing in renewables. It's called "Global Environmental Enterprises Fund".
I can't link to it.
From the L+G Site:
"THE GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL ENTERPRISES FUND IS AN INNOVATIVE FUND AIMING TO PROVIDE LONG TERM GROWTH POTENTIAL BY INVESTING IN COMPANIES AT THE FOREFRONT OF PRODUCING SOLUTIONS TO GLOBAL ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES"
INVEST TODAY AND HARNESS THE OPPORTUNITY WITH A FUND THAT:
Invests in global companies producing products and providing services relating to energy efficiency; low carbon energy production; and water, waste and pollution control.
Offers an investment that complements your existing general portfolio by adding specialist investment in companies involved in environmental enterprises.
Is passively managed and uses in-depth company research and sophisticated stock selection processes.
Features in the Investment Management Association’s ‘Global’ sector.
0% initial service charge, 1.25% annual management charge
The fund is managed by Legal & General Investment Management using an index created by Osmosis Investment Management, an award-winning company that specialises in sustainable equity markets."
Just wondering what people thought of this. I've subscribed to the N,S &I and my ISA allowance, so i'm looking for something more for about 3000GBP I have left over, which is the minimum investment (This could be locked away for some time, not risk averse).
It's quite hard to find any historical info, so I guess it would be taking a step into the unknown. It has an interesting direction, so I was wondering what other thought?

Personally I can't see renewables and low carbon energy production being any good for at least another 5 years, but thats just my personal opinion.0

There are existing funds covering similar territory such as Jupiter Ecology, Jupiter Environmental, Allianz RCM Global EcoTrends.
Some people don't like to invest in brand-new funds and would rather see what happens after they settle down.
Might be a good idea to look at Morningstar which shows over 60 funds in Sector Equity Ecology
