Refunds

Hi,

Looking for some advice on a refund claim through Expedia. I was due to fly to Japan in March the day after the Tsunami. Pretty lucky escape and Expedia were very helpful in getting the package cancelled and offering a refund.

I was told the flight refund may take up to 12 weeks. It's been 15 weeks now and I have not received the money for the flights. After contacting Expedia last week I was told they had contacted the Airline and it will be repaid in full between 7 and 10 days. However subsequent to this conversation I received a further email from Expedia stating that it may take up to another 12 weeks.

Needless to say I'm pretty unhappy about the whole situation. Considering the amount in question is in excess of £1300 and is on my credit card, racking up interest every month I find having to wait up to another 12 weeks to be totally unacceptable.

Does anybody know where I stand with this, especially in terms of trying to get the refund paid ASAP?

I do hope you receive your refund as soon as possible, however, I should just like to point out that it was your choice to fund the flights via credit card so the same amount of interest would be racking up if you had taken the holiday.

Surely you could afford to pay it originally from a saving or current account etc. So im confused to why you haven't cleared the balance, but thats not my business.

    Just keep hassling them

  • I have the same problem but this time it was expedia canceling our flight by accident. We had to buy more flights at the airport on there advice (fore 4 times the price) and they said they would refund the difference within 7-10days. We've been waiting 5 weeks already and are now hassling them everyday!

Any advice would be gratefully received.
