IF there was such a device do you think Murdoch would be flogging Multiroom ?????0

you will just have to do lots of tapeing when the kids are not watchin the TV. Then you have somthing at least to watch in the other room0

Call sky and threaten to cancel your subscribtion (make sure to mention Freeview) and they may offer you a discount

Yes it will, but it only transmits the same channel you're watching. No Sky box at the moment outputs 2 different channels, they just have 2 outputs with the same channel.
As mentioned above, the only way with Sky to watch 2 different channels in 2 different rooms is to get Multiroom i.e. another box and an extra £10/month subs.Dave. :wave:0 -

what if you was to use a coaxial splitter on the cable from the dish, the having 2 cables (1toskybox,1tofreeview) at least you can watch a freeview channel of your choice. would this work??

It won't work I'm afraid. You need to have a totally separate feed from the dish for each box.0

You can buy an arial transmitter device from an electrical retailer such as currys or comet, the prices vary from about £30 - £50 but they all do the same thing!0 -

Get yourself an additional remote (Ebay?) and you can change channel too.
As for the OP, you could install a quad LNB and run a cable to the other room into a cheap Sky box, which would let you watch the free channels, but not the subscription ones. As has been said, if you want paid for subscription channels on both rooms, Multiroom is the only option."I'm not even supposed to be here today."0
