Quite right Cale P. I have been bridesmaid 3x before in my 20s and just wore what I was given. I dont have a problem with the dress as it is the brides day, but my face does not wear well in the frock and I do look a mutton job. It is also too short (8 inches over the knee in a puff ball....).Duck n weave I'll cal her tomorrow!

From the additional info you've given about the dress I think that it's perfectly reasonable to discuss it with her - 8 inches above the knee??? Apologies for my previous post if it came across as harsh; I just re-read it and winced! Was obviously not in the best of moods yesterday morning... :o A better way of putting it is that having a tactful word and suggesting an alternative is fine if the dress is completely inappropriate for you for whatever reason, but she has the final say if she is paying. Hope the conversation goes well tomorrow

I agree with the others, as MOH you can have a different dress - just discuss it with your sister and make sure she is happy with that

Eep, that is a bit short! I'm sure if you bring it up tactfully then she won't take offence - something like you think the dresses are really pretty but you feel a little self-conscious in it being older then the other bridesmaids and would she maybe consider you wearing the same colour/material in a slightly different style.
