What can I do with this 110v/240v shaver Socket? Can I Convert it for lighting?

Options
Recently I have been posting various questions about some issues I have encountered whilst renovating our En-Suite Bathroom. Here's our latest 'Issue'.!

Fixed to the wall in this Bathroom there is a Socket for a 2 Pin Shaver. This socket has 110v and 240v pin holes. I want to get rid of this socket as it has never been used but I don't know what to do. I am fully capable of isolating the electricity and trimming the wires and terminating them in a terminal block but there's a couple of things I'm not sure about and I have a couple if questions.

1. Supposing I simply want to do away with this socket, how do I terminate the wires? I ask this because coming down from the ceiling there are TWO cables that feed into the rear of this socket. It appears that one !cable goes to the 240v Pins and the other cable goes to the 110v pins. Assuming I literally cut both cables in the middle and throw away this socket, I will then have 2 cables. Hanging down which will potentially be live when I switch the power back on.!

Plan A: Terminating the wires....Do I simply connect the Live from both cables together, earth from both cables together and Nuetral from both cables together and screw them into a suitable terminal Block to terminate them?

Plan B: using these wires to feed a light.... So, I have cut my wires and have these 2 cables hanging down before me! Remember I said we were renovating the Bathroom... Well, this socket is right next to the position of our intended Mirror. Can I use these 2 wires that I have just cut to form a light around the Mirror? By this I mean is it possible I can fit a strip of 240V LED's around the mirrors edge using these 2 wires as the Power source?

Any help friends???

My inclination would be to see where the cables come from and go to. You say they come down into the socket - I assume you have an attic above, so look to see where each cable goes. If one comes from a nearby light fitting or switch, and another goes to another light fitting/switch, that suggests the socket is merely one component in the ring, and that connect live to live, neutral to neutral etc. should make the ring complete - however, I'm sure a real electrician (I'm not) will be along to advise that you shouldn't be connecting them with terminal blocks or junction boxes in an inaccessible space such as the wall space - you should probably install a proper junction box in the attic, and pull the cables up and out of the wallspace to join in the accessible area of the attic.

Thanks. I'll see what the Sparkys say too.

Both the wires will be 240V the 110V comes via the transformer behind the shaver socket.

The two wires will be a live feed in L-N-E and a live feed back out L-N-E probable to another light fitting, if you disconnect them and dont join them together then more likely than not you will loose some of the lights on that particular circuit.
