Whilst having a shower I had an idea, It may be completely crap or utterly genius. Either way just throwing it out there to gather some responses. There might be something similar out there already but suppose there is always room for another.
Basically think cars, Think holidays, Think luxurious prizes and then think raffle tickets but then turn raffle tickets into a website instead.
Users will be able to buy a ticket/token for a variable price depending on the prize.
The winner will be randomly selected and would win a car for say a fiver. We then would take all the money from that draw and purchase that prize. I would then look to have real life testimonials set up and possibly use say Facebook to show winners stories and drum up interest etc.
Prizes could be sponsored by companies so the cost of the prize is either met or contributed to. Other things such as google adsense would be used to create additional revenue.
Not sure of all the logistics but guess that's what places like this are for.

you mean something very similiar to mad bid and the various others out there where by you basically buy a bid (no different to a raffle ticket really) and then bid.
You would need a gambling license for your idea IIRC if it were to be just raffle tickets as it falls under some gambaling laws where certain criterias have to be met. The idea of a raffle is feasble but you would need huge volumes of people to make it work and make a profit.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
Sounds like an illegal lottery, tread with caution and seek legal advice!0

I think you have to have bought the prize first...?:jBaby Boy born December 20120

What would happen if you don't make enough money? You couldn't just keep extending the closing date until you have enough. There were several 'win a house' raffles a while back and a lot of them didn't make enough money and ended up having to choose a winner and send them a proportion of the money from the raffle ticket sales. I think a lot of people weren't happy that they bought a relatively expensive raffle ticket and the prize was changed.0 -
I have only seen one house raffle personally, and there was no closing date it was down to how many tickets were sold and it continued till they were all sold. I believe they still had to get a license to issue the tickets as it was still a lottery type affair.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0
