Usa internal flights - tips please

Hi

Planning a trip to USA next May. We need internal return flights from Orlando to Atlanta. Can you suggest any methods of reducing the costs?

Thanks

Drive! Its much more fun :-) Or delta use Atlanta as there hub, so try them. :-)

Alternatively, fly from the UK to Orlando via Atlanta and do a stopover where necessary.. Im not sure if that would fit in with your plans, but if you do them all together its likely to be cheaper, as you can get tickets that give free stopovers. You would have to call a few agents to get prices.

you don't need an agent for flights like that though - we regularly book open-jaw flights to the US with an internal leg ourselves...just look online somewhere like kayak to get an idea and then check airlines direct...use the multi-city search option.

If you already have the transatlantic flight booked - you can still use kayak and similar to price up options with most airlines, at least as a starting point.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

AirTran is one option as already suggested but equally I have also found better flights in terms of price and schedule with Delta.

AirTran also used to give me problems using a UK credit card whereas it is always easy on Delta.com

AirTran and Southwest are merging at the moment and so the credit card issue may disappear if the Southwest reservation system is being used. I've never had any issues with them either.
