Has anyone tried to get anything back from Paypal?
They have debited my account without good reason

Paypal chargebacks are not bank charges. They are made when there is a dispute over a transaction or a payment method. Paypal tell you the reason a chargeback is made.

These are nothing to do with the process of reclaiming bank charges. You need to contact Paypal to see why the chargeback was made.

my friend had a problem with paypal and they were very good at returning something they took in error. email them first and if you get no reponse, give them a phone and thank your lucky stars its not ebay you have a problem with, they are a nightmare

Chargeback was fraud by the buyer.
Of course I have contacted them, by email, telephone & snailmail.

If its fraud, you should contact the police.

I'll move this thread over to the Ebay board. There are many more members there that know far more about Paypal disputes/problems.

The buyer is in the Netherlands so the Police may be the long option.
I am contemplating serving a court action on Paypal via the Money Claims Online website.

What sort of fraud?

A cahregback can be done for two reasons, one is fraudulent use of a credit card, in which case you can take legal advice about tracking down the person you sent your item too. The second sort of chargeback is for non received item, and if you can prove delivery using a paypal acceptable method you can win that one.
