Landlord has installed CCTV INSIDE our house and will not return my deposit

Keep a hold of all your evidence.
You might have a case on the grounds of false advertising. This could possibly be pursued with the likes of Trading Standards - however you did sign the contract which was 'not as advertised'. Thus the terms of the contract were different to the advertised. Check the definition of PCM - he may have a clause defining it as 28 days/4 weeks - which could be the landlords 'get-out clause'.
I would have a solicitor inspect the contract. No doubt if it's a DIY bodge-job one they will be able to spot a feeble and foolish attempt at making it legally binding. A substantial flaw may give you leverage to state that the contract is null and void. Check the terms and conditions. Any breaks in their responsibility/duties - legal as a landlord?
I would also suggest you contact either the Landlords Association/Tennants/Logers Association for further info. Bear in mind each party may present one-sided information.
How about wearing a bike/extreme sport mini-cam on your head and walk around with it in his face? Paybacks a b***h!Young At Heart and Ever The Optimist: "You can't sell ice to Eskimo."

Put a mirror right in front of the camera everytime you go into the room!!0

Just because you pay your rent in advance doesn't mean you can't go into arrears with rent...0

I wouldn't store any thing too personal in your room, incase he is visiting your room while you are out. ie bank info, evidence against him etc.0

The link put up by poppy10 may turn out to be the sweetest pay-off for you even if you don't get your deposit back.
Shades of Sunil Dhown who no doubt much enjoyed similar publicity in the past0 -
Oh boy! Comical. Another way to defeat the cctv would be to get yourself a little strobe light and play it in front of the camera, that should give him a nice headache, or get technical, wrap some electrial wire right around it about 50 turns, touch the ends to both sides of a 12v battery, just very quickly, remove the wire. You will have fried the inside of the camera and left no evidence. It's called inductance.0

Wow, sounds like a right weirdo
Wonder how he afforded such a house in the first place0 -
When did you last pay your rent? I'd write him a letter saying you're moving out:
Dear <LL's name>,
I am writing to let you know that I will be moving out of your property on <date of day before rent is due>, and expect to receive my full deposit back within 14 days of this date.
I am moving out because firstly the rent was advertised as £950 pcm, yet I was forced to sign a contract under duress (with the threat of instantly having to move out) making this rent every 4 weeks, and secondly, I am not happy with all the CCTV in the communal areas, which were installed without informing your lodgers and against our wishes.
Kind Regards,
<you>
Take some photos of the CCTV if possible, as you can use this as evidence. It's a bit sick having CCTV inside! If he doesn't return the deposit, then write again after the 14 days are up, entitled "Letter before action", and give him 7 more days to return deposit in full, otherwise you'll take him to court. Small claims court is all done online, and you have a very good chance of winning.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Personally I think I'd be having a word with the police on this one - say that you find it intrusive and worrying/sick -it's not normal is it? You may find that there is nothing they can do but they will hopefully be paying more attention to him/the house and your conscience would be clear if something later happened and if enough people complain....
