PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. I see in your next post you are ridiculing another posters spelling ability, more of a personal attack than calling all you people wanting a housing crash "weirdos", in my opinion you are weird, you're hijacking quite a lot of threads that have nothing to do with a crash and leading them that way. We should have a seperate forum designed specifically for a possible house price crash, you could be a moderator meanmachine and spend all your days reading it and replying to it or maybe get a part time job instead and buy a house?

I wouldnt say duel, it seems you seek out meanmachine to slag off what theyve written. Seen this happen on numerous occasions.
I hope for all our sakes it isnt continued in the 2007. Its less interesting than the constant discussion on crashes or not crashes. Additionally, it certainly doesnt meet Martins basic motto of "be nice to all moneysavers"
Heres to a prosperous and happy new year to all from me to you :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Its not that i seek him out, he posts on every thread about house price crashes, but i like him.0

Prices could continue to rise - makes no difference to my £80K mortgage.
Prices could continue to fall - makes no difference to my £80K mortgage.
House values make no difference to me as I expect to live here till I die. However, lower prices would enable my children to buy their homes instead of living in housing association houses and paying rent.
I have an untested and unproven theory that divorce rates are higher amongst home buyers than those who rent.
Happy New Year to all MSEers.

Certainly it was found by some survey or other that a large proportion of domestic arguments had their root in money problems.Happy chappy0

It's my belief that when some wives realise that they can take at least half of the equity with them, they are more tempted to give up on a marriage rather than work at it.
Apologies for being off topic.

I'd dispute that last one. It was a great strain on my relationship years ago when we had to keep moving every 6 months because amateur landlords couldn't decide whether to sell or not and kept mucking us about over lease renewals.
Incidently, couples argue about money and s*x more than everything else put together. And the most stressfull things in the universe are death, divorce and moving house.
