Was rejected a few days ago but since then I have reduced both my Egg credit cards limits from £3000 to £1500 and closed my Paypal credit card which had a limit of £2000. So that's £5000 less credit I have available.

It can take anything from 4-12 weeks for your credit files to be updated, therefore it would be pointless re-applying so soon.
Your rejection may have also had nothing to do with your available credit, you may not fit the profile of what they're looking for right now. I'd try elsewhere If I were you.0 -
You will be rejected.
Halifax wont see your updated balances for up to 6 weeks as it wont update until then. Also, you do not know the reason for decline.
Also, they are unlikely to accept a rejected application within 6 months of applying. You could appeal however with the new information. But do not reapply. It will be pointless.0
