3 = Worst Customer Service Ever

Options
For a bit of history, I'll take you back to about January when E2Save.com where offering Nokia 7600's on a very good contract offer. £3/month etc..even free if you were incredibly lucky.

However my brother (as he is) broke his phone while playing pool by bashing it against the table. Only half of the screen was visible so he sent it to 3 for it to be fixed. What I was told next was beyond belief. I would like to be clear that I am not intending to be racist at all, but the people who work in these indian/pakistani call centres are idiots. They were going to charge him £130 to fix the phone! Thats right, £130!! You could buy the phone for brand new on PAYG for about £50 with Amazon, but they wanted to charge £130 to fix the phone.

Needless to say he was really !!!!!! off and totally refused to pay the £130. Instead I think they are sending it back broken. I accept that 3 have absolutely dismal customer services, and will try to charge you for anything if they can. Unfortunately though they did offer an unbeatable deal at the time, which is the only reason we chose them.

So if anybody has a spare nokia 7600 they want to sell, I'm all ears.

I'm also open to hearing anyone else who has had problems with 3, and their absolutely pathetic excuse for customer service from New Delhi.

Regards,

byb3

Hey..I dont even have a phone withe 3..BUT..We kept recieving phone bills at our address for someone who we dont know and who certainly dosent live here!..anyway..we sent the oringal bill back unopened with "not known at this address"..nxt month..same thing..and again..untill i got pised off and rang them..was told had been sorted etc..Till the nxt month..they came again..rang them up..told the same thing-it has been delt with..in the end got fed up with ringing and rote off to theier head office and havent recieved any mre bills..they didnt reply to my letter tho which was annoying as i wanted to know why we were being sent these bills and why i was told it was sorted wen it wasnt..and yes..each time i got threw it was to someone in india..Again i'm not racist but they dont seem to care and are very hard to understand! It cost me money to inform them and kept geting fobbed off! I WILL never get a phone with them EVER..And will hapily tell others the experience i had with them even tho i dont even have a 3 phone! They are the worst ever!!!
As for charging 130 to get your phone fixed..take it into one of their shops..i believe the have some kind of link with superdrug..as they have got a phone section/3g area in the ones where i live..Leamington spa..and if the phones under warranty it should be fixed FREE within that period..otherwise refuse to pay the contract !!

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

i get really annoyed when i hear or read "i'm not racist but"...

    1. if you're going to sterotype every single person who works in a foreign call centre (oh - sorry - "an indian/pakistani call centre") then don't complain when you're labelled as racist. i now label you as racist by what you said - deal with it :) or look it up in a dictionary ;)

    2. i'm guessing your brother didn't have insurance so it's totally up to him as to whether he pays the money or not? maybe next time he'll get insurance and not complain about breaking something himself? (it's not as if the person in the call centre broke it, now is it? c'mon!! he only has himself to blame!!!)

a warranty covers 3's faults - not your brother's accidents.

"The manufacturer's 12-month warranty covers defects in material and workmanship."

seriously, why on earth should any phone company pay for something your brother did to his own phone??? HELLO???!!!!?????!!!!

    rant over :p

    Erm....

Its the fact that the phone itself costs much less than £130 to buy outright yet they want to charge £130 to repair a broken screen on 1 phone.

I still stand by my opinion that most Indian/Pakistani call centres are useless.

Then buy a replacement. If my car is damaged beyond it's value, it will be written off. Your failure to persuade 3 to underwrite this accident does not entitle you to generically apply these insults to these people.

Note from Board Guide: Can I please ask everyone to think carefully about any further comments they would like to make on this topic. I think it important that this thread does not disintegrate into yet another war of words about racism. Thanks everyone. :)

A new 7600 handset on its own is £200; as you say, on 3 payg £50

Easy decision, I think; and -
Why not trade-in your old handset and save even more
I don't think this would apply to the broken one, but you must have something else lying around
