Hi all,
Just looked at the post about the Nikon camera fiasco.
My personal opinion about Comet will become evident if you read the rest of this.
I purchased a Magellan SatNav system from them about eighteen months ago only to find two months after purchasing it that the unit was obsolete, there was only one upgrade in firmware and to my complete shock the maps on the unit must have been years old.
I thought at the time that there would be more updates for at least the maps in the months and years to come, silly me, imagine thinking that these people would care once they had my money.
I went back to the store after four months and explained to the assistant that this system was useless, I had tried about eight random addresses in Scotland and none of them was found.
I asked what use was a SatNav system if you could not find streets that were built thirty or forty years ago or update the maps for new ones that were built.
Ofcourse the assistant said it was not there fault, that was down to the makers and as the unit had no faults there was nothing they could do.
I tried contacting the makers but found out that there was no support for this system as it had been discontinued.
This system cost £300 and I still have to use Google to find addresses on the internet, how can they justify selling this unit for that price when it is totally useless.
Before you buy anything from Comet, please check that it's not discontinued stock.
