These PPC con artists and crooks, offer a percentage to the stores, most are in on the scam.
The Answer is simple, find a supermarket that does not try to run a thug racket on its customers and shop there, everybody do it and they will soon get the message when the tills are empty.

The problem is that we sleep walking into a situation where these private parking scumbags will have the full access to the DVLA database and the power to persecute the registered keeper of the vehicle even if he was not or does not know who was driving at the time of the alleged 'offence'. The so called 'Protection of Freedom Bill' will be put before Parliament soon. Section 2:Clause 56 will give this power, until now reserved for the Police and Local Authorities, to these private parking scrotums. The BPA has been seriously lobbying for these powers and they could get their way. This Bill will not protect YOUR freedom, at present you have more than adequate protection in civil law. This Bill will remove that protection and allow these sharks to prey on you. It will move the offence into the criminal law sphere and promote the revenue gathering tactics of these robbing companies. The only way they make money is by extorting it from the motorist, easy target(just ask the Government). I cannot believe our OWN Government is going to allow these scumbags to prey on and harrass it'e own citizens. Everyone TAKE NOTICE- there is a famous quote 'for evil to flourish, all it takes is good people to do nothing' If you do nothing it will be your own fault if you get caught out in future. Write to your MP to protest. Write to your local supermarket if they employ these companies. WE have the power, can we exercise it????? DO SOMETHING NOW...

We need a template letter to send to our MP ?
Any offers from any of the writing "experts"

the option to pursue the RK.

Yes with all the problems that ensue because it is still contract law.

They still have to overcome ,

    Proper fair contract ?

    Penalties in contracts ?

Unfair terms in a contract that have the effect of a penalty ?

Privity of contract ..this is to my mind the big one that will get very interesting in court..

Plus they can't use their defective fraudulent camera systems, they have to either stick a notice on the car or hand it to the driver, and I would venture they will need to be able to evidence this not just say they did....

All in all I reckon R/K's will be ignoring these and there may be some interesting test cases ahead...

these stores don't want someone parking all day and going elsewhere .

so a simple solution is a tannoy "would the driver of vehicle abc123f please come to customer services"

They give you time to respond and if you turn up as you are still shopping or in the cafe ..no ticket ..if they feel it is appropriate they may ask for a reasonable amount i.e. £3 per hour or part of ..not £40 which is quite simply a profiteering scam.

They also have to take into consideration the Equality Act which says that suitable provision has to be made for disabled people. This includes allowing them more time to do their shopping because of their disability. Most supermarkets are guilty of this.
