'Interest-free deals for xx months' are always hard to get.

You might not get accepted for an additional Vanquis card either, so, in this case,
how would MBNA 'earn something out of you'?

Sounds like they are trying to help, albeit in that 'special way' that only big banks and financial institutions can..!
