Hi im afraid i dont really understand this. I know what PPI and i dont think i have taken it out on my loan or on my tesco and virgin cc.
i recvd a phone call today from a company telling me i could earn potentially thousands back from reclaiming PPI. I tried to tell her that i know i refused it on HSBC and the 2 cards, but she was adamant that it was hidden in the interest charges.
Is she right, is this a scam?

An easy way to find out is to review your paperwork, PPI should be indicated in there, if you haven't got your paperwork send a "SAR" to your loan/card providers to provide you with copies of your agreements etc.
Even if you have been mis-sold PPI, you need to be sure of your reasons, and don't go with one of these cold calling claims company, handle the complaint yourself, there's plenty advice and templates here to help
The majority of these claims companies are little better than the banks ripping money off customers in the first place.:www: Progress Report :www:

I have had the same phone calls as will many who post here. I have even been told I can complain to myself and still get paid redress for mis-selling even though I took my insurances out myself.
They tell you all sorts of rubbish on the phone as they are just sales agents who are paid to get people signed up.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
The only reason they called you is in the hope of making a profit for themselves (if you use them to make a complaint, and if your complaint is upheld, they charge you a large fee: 30% or more is typical)BeautyandtheBeast wrote: »Is she right, is this a scam?
Anyone wondering whether they have PPI should check their accounts and agreements, but before making a complaint should consider the consequences.
If the PPI is cancelled and all premiums refunded, the cover ceases. If events in the future mean the person is unable to keep up with the payments due to sickness, for example, they need to have alternative ways to pay the lender.0 -
I had a (recorded message) phone call from these PPI people at 3am this morning, this is disgusting. I have elderly parents and every time the phone goes I worry that something may be wrong, especially if the phone goes in the middle of the night, and it appears there is no way I can contact these people to complain or to try and get myself off of their contact list. The recorded message stated to press 9 to opt out but this did not work (was told "this key is invalid"). I tried calling them back but got a message saying "this phone number is invalid". If anyone knows of a way to contact this organisation I would be very very grateful, thank you.0
