Covent Garden Eateries

I'm over in London next week for a few days and would be grateful for some suggestions on reasonably priced places to eat out around Covent Garden area.

Many thanks

  • Loads of chains with vouchers on the Strand and around the Maiden Lane/Piazza area - Pizza Express, Bella Italia, Fire & Stone, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, All Bar One, Wagamama etc. Leon is nice too and has various lunch and dinner deals, and Wahaca if you like Mexican.

If you want something a bit more off the beaten track, there's a place just up from the piazza called Food For Thought which does lovely veggie food and really good soup for lunches. Henry's by the piazza also does very good sandwiches if you don't want anything too heavy.

  • There is an amazing place just off Covent Garden on Drury Lane called Sarastro - they have a website that you can look at. They do set menus which are reasonably priced and the food in there is all 'real' and tasty.

The best part is that the interior is ike nothing you will ever have seen before - it is set out like a sumptuous opera house - or like something from Moulin Rouge - you have to see it to believe it!

    Quite an experience!
