YOU put yourself in this position by refusing a perfect request most buyers would ask for.Now he has you where he wants ,the pressure is on you....pay up time.I applaud the guy for his tactics because i believe his request was one i would ask for..
Not a "perfect request" when already been made and declined - in my book anyway.0 -
Well done, hope all goes well from here on in.0

Well done. I'm sure yesterday was stressful, but doesn't it feel good when you get one over on a bully.
Personally, I would rise above the revenge ideas. You have the moral high ground and I think that it is best to keep it."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -
Well done and the best of luck with the rest of the move
Yes, yes I am! :dance:0 -

that you have declined it, has no bearing on whether it is a perfectly reasonable request.0 -

What is a reasonable request, reasonable is a matter of opinion.
As the buyer has chosen to proceed anyway I would say that it was an unreasonable request in their opinion as well as the OP's but they thought they would try it on.
I would have called it unreasonable that they waited until the day of exchange to bring up a matter that had already been discussed and dealt with. Just as I would consider gazumping/gazundering unreasonable.0 -
Pay it, don't lose the sale for £500, galling though it is. But remove everything else from the house that you are not legally bound to leave. He will soon rack up a bill for curtain rails, curtains, carpets, spare light bulbs, composter, clothes line etc.Ooh, and don't forget to remove all the loo rolls as well.

Or read the whole thread and find out that they said no to paying and buyer dropped his request

Take the light bulbs with you when you leave, just to annoy them.I have a lot of problems with my neighbours, they hammer and bang on the walls sometimes until 2 or 3 in the morning - some nights I can hardly hear myself drilling
