The dividing wall to my property are increddibly thin and I can hear my neighbours speaking. Thank goodness they don't party til the small hours but they do 'chat' a lot and its starting to grate.
In the bedroom I have open fronted ikea units (full )along the dividing wall but I can still hear everyword they say. It seems to be louder if they are downstairs.
Any suggestions would be of great help.

Do you rent or own?
If you rent then white noise i your own flat can help - dehumidifier, fan etc or I even think you can buy a white noise machine
Alternatively start looking for another rental, possibly older style which often have thicker walls (bit of a generalisation)
If you own, then more options could be double plasterboarding the wall with acoustic board - but to do it properlytakes time and money and its difficult to isoltae all noise whne walls, rafters, beams, chimney breasts are connected
Plenty of info previously on here if you use the search function aswell
Also don't forget they will be in the same position as you !0 -
Thanks SST, I will search the forums for a bit and don't worry I am always very quiet! The house is rented but fairly old, early 50's brick built. I thin the prob is more apparent because we don't have a tv and our living room is upstairs and they do have a tv and their living room is downstairs. if we were on the same level one would counteract the other!0
