Great that you got the £350 loan back. Well done on spending it wisely. Any idea why it was handed over now? Most people are too worried about the bills to be paying off loans from friends or family in January.

hey you're doing really well kevster, just remember with the mystery shopping you need to register as self employed unless it is one of the few companies that does paye. If you don't register you face a 100 quid fine and of course having to pay the taxes. I can't remember your situation but if you have a partner that earns less or doesn't work it would be better if they do the mystery shopping so it can be part of their tax free allowance rather than you doing it and ending up being taxed on it on top of your wages.

Keep up the good work though, I wish I could cook beef in ale sounds yummy.

  • Thanks folks, yes she is superb. I lent her money to sort her car out in July last year and NEVER asked for it back as I knew she was skint. As soon as she had some cash she paid me...thats wot friens are for eh?

Beef in Ale was easy.....slow cooker, dump the onion, diced beef, tin of toms, can of beer, 2 Oxo cubes and let it go, thicken it with lentils if its too thin. Easy and about 60p per portion too.

Yes it is a big debt, but I do earn around £40k per year and I seem somehow to be managing it. It is as follows:

    Od 1 Lloyds £10k
    Od2 Lloyds £5k
    CC Me Lloyds £3.4k
    CC Wife Lloyds £12k
    CC Me MBNA £7.6k
    Loan Nationwide £1.8k - 18months to go
Loan Black Horse £2k - just began.

All a result of a house renovation that cost loads more than I thought!
