Accommodation Near Carnforth

Hi, me and my partner are looking to get away in September for his birthday, and I am trying to find self catering accommodation around the Carnforth area.

We are mainly going to visit the Leighton Moss RSPB Nature Reserve and other things in the area so would like to be local to that. We do have a car however.

We were thinking depending on price maybe 4-7 nights. Seven if we can find something good enough price wise. I have looked on cottage sites and caravan sites that I can find.
The dates I am looking at are around 3rd September so the kids will be getting ready to go back to school by then.

Was just wondering if anyone local new of anywhere good and as cheap as possible for a nice clean self catering accommodation that we could look into?

Also is there anywhere else good in the area for bird watching, wildlife and such like?

Thanks.

Morecambe will probably be your cheapest bet, and not far from Carnforth.
A couple we've stayed at are:
Rydal Mount - self catering apts. It's on the eastern end of the prom looking out over the Bay Grange-over-Sands and the South Lakeland Hills. That end of the prom is also great for bird-watching, the views are world class and change as the weather changes. Just google Morecambe self-catering for contact details.
Westgate Caravan Park (it's residential, so very quiet). It's not on the prom (2 minute drive), but the caravans are clean, well equipped, and reasonably priced. The park is opposite Morecambe FC, so if you're lucky you might get a game in!
There's a big Morrisons on the prom for stocking up.

Warton, Silverdale and Arnside are good spots.
    Grange, Cartmel.
    Kendal and around.
    Kirkby Lonsdale and Ingleton.
Halton,Caton, Hornby and the Lune Valley.
In fact the whole area probably fits in with what you're after. Just make sure you've got waterproofs.
Lancaster Canal runs through Carnforth, and not bad for a stroll

Thank you so much for all of that. All the places you have mentioned look great and around my price as well. Have emailed a few of them, so hopefully one will turn out.

Though I think I know which one my partner will be voting for when he finds out the caravan park is opposite Morecambe FC ha-ha. He is a big football fan, luckily I am as well. Just checked their fixtures and there are games on the week we are going, better not tell him or the bird watching will be out of the window those days ha-ha.

And thank you for the good places to go information and the tips on taking waterproofs. Just what I was looking for. Have a great night. :)

Also Holgates in Silverdale is a caravan park which I think has static caravans. There's a few in Hale, near Milnthorpe as well.

The main reasons I recommended Westgate Caravan Park are that we've stayed on it, it's very well kept, is quiet (only 6 rental caravans), and the price, £205 for the week cg 3 September. Regent Caravan Park, which is almost next door is more expensive (albeit does have leisure facilities) and can get quite boisterous.

The self catering I mentioned, Rydal Mount, is right on the prom, has uninterrupted views across the Bay, and is very comfortable.

As for the footie, the game at The Globe on 3 September is arguably the most attractive of the season v Bratfud City (who think they should be in the Premier League!). It'll be a capacity crowd, and a good atmosphere. If I were going I'd stand on the North Terrace. The following Saturday is against 'rich' newcomers Crawley Town who'll be out to impress in their first season in the Football League
