Parking Ticket
I got a parking ticket for parking on Zig Zags which were just before a crossing. As i came out of the a shop i noticed the police van and the officer asked me to have a seat inside his van. I was hoping we would just give me a caution and that would be it but i got a fixed penalty 3 points and a £60 fine. he asked if i had any points never in my 15 years of driving so gutted now. Don't mind the fine its having the 3 points that is worst.
Lesson learnt never leaving my car on Zig Zags again, is there anyway possible to avoid having the 3 points.

No, not unless you think that you didn't commit the offence, but as you have already said that you parked in the zig zags and were stopped and spoken to at the time I would suggest that you just pay the fine and treat it as a lesson learned."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

garcon6,
I am with Trebor on this one. There is no point of law to contest this and mention no emergency, threat to the security of the nation or suchlike to contest this. LABATYMO!0 -
It was just after 6pm when I got issued with the ticket if it was just a traffic warden would it have just been a fine. Does anyone know that if you have 3 points (parking illegally) does it affect your insurance.

NOTE: If someone is parked there and you overtake them then by overtaking you are also braking the law and will get points. You have to wait for the car to move before continuing.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

If you have no other convictions or accidents then its doubtful that you will pay any more for your insurance because of the points. You will get a "TS" conviction code and the points tho.
I suspect that your insurance will go up more anyway this year as its open season on the wallets of UK insurance paying public!"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0
