PANASONIC SD253 YYDC...Is this the right one?

Hi. I'm new on the boards, but have been lurking for a while. I don't know about the Panasonic, but I've used fresh yeast in my Lidl and new MR fastbake with mostly good results. I realised soon after getting my first breadmaker that I was allergic to something in the dried yeast, so tried the fresh instead. I measure out some of the lukewarm water(100ml), sugar(2 tsps) and flour(2 tsps) into a jug and add 15g(ish) of yeast. I stir until all dissolved (squashing out the lumps with the back of the spoon) then leave somewhere warm for about 15 minutes, while I measure out the rest of the ingredients. The mixture in the jug should froth up nicely, to about double it's original volume. I then add this to the pan and press start.
I've had pretty good results with this method, and even use fresh yeast which has been previously frozen in ice cube trays- thanks to advice from the Breadmaking Thread! I suppose this might not work if there is a delay before the start of mixing, but it's worth a try.
Good Luck!

Oh my...it's done
We couldn't wait so cut a crust off to try when it was warm...I think it's a hit with all concerned.
we went middle of the road for a first try and selected the M L XL and went for the dot on colour of crust. I'm impressed with the size of the loaf and may go for dark next time.
Chuffed to bits
PS...we are just heating up homemade left over turkey soup with lentils/potato/carrots....with homemade bread too eh!
Not in debt at the moment, but been there in the past and realise I'm the kind of person who could easily fall back into it with the self destructing spending button so making sure I keep on top of being a good girl.

Anyway, we are now at 58 mins to first fresh bread.
I am a bit gutted though that I can't use the FREE fresh yeast... I'm searching around to see if anyone has tried or uses it anyway. If someone else has I might try it too.
Oooh congrats, Pannys are the business
You can use fresh yeast if you use the rapid bake programme, and it should work really well. That way you can keep easybake yeast for when you want to bake a loaf overnight... waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread, mmmmm.
There are some tips HERE which might be useful and especially THIS thread about fresh yeast versus dried.
I have a Panansonic 253 and use the 99p orange tubs of dried yeast (start it in warm water and sugar first) on the rapid programme. I do at least a loaf a day and the tubs last me ages. I can't often get free fresh yeast round my way or I'd use it instead of the tubs of yeast.
Enjoy your bread
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
