we need a five bed home, as my bro in law is now living with us, a strugling thespbian! lovey.....
so i was thinking rather than lose my art attic studio, i could do with out a bathroom,
we have a large walk in shower room and a sauna shower room,
and a bath room,
each has full suite.
it suits the layout of the house to change the bath room to a bedroom, but i wonder how complicated it is..... tiles off wall i can cope with but floors and pipes and toilet removal..... sounds scary,
so does anyone have any experiance of doing this ?
and how long does it take.... ish.
also now days its so much faster and more green to shower, would it put you off buying a house if it had no bath...?

A one bedroom flat intended for a single person or a couple can easily get away with having a shower only and not a bath. But people would expect a large family house to have a bath. Its easier for people to bath toddlers and babies rather than shower them. Plus, many people (me included) like to have the option of both. Showers are good for quickness, but a long relaxing soak in the tub can't be beaten in my book. I think you will shoot yourself in the foot if you get rid of the only bath.
In terms of the work you need doing, its relatively straightforward. A day or so to get rid of the suite, tiles etc and cap off services and then a day for replastering.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Very easy to remove a bathroom as phill says. It would take a bit longer to reinstate it, but it would still be pretty straight forward to do in a room that has the basic pipework under the floor.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
I'd not look at it without a bath. A girl needs a proper bath.0
